Numbers

The official numbers are in. They sold out the tournament at 630 players for a prizepool of $189,000. Quite a bit over the $100k guarantee.

The $2000 satellite into the Main Event will top 300 players before the list is locked. I see quite a few players that I recognize from the Borgata Summer Open Main Event and blogger friend NewinNov is sitting at Table 1. About 5 feet from my seat on media row. Barry Leventhal is in the house.

They can't give me the current numbers entered into the Main Event but I have it on good authority that the field will be monstrous and they will blow past the $5,000,000 guarantee.

Saturday, September 13th

Tab the Tournament Director gave the order to kick off the $100k tournament only 25 minutes past the scheduled start time. Pretty amazing considering the huge number of players in this last minute event. They are running tables in the Event Center and downstairs in the poker room. There is still a huge line in the hallway for people waiting to register.

They blew past the $100k guarantee early. 510 players registered at 11am and still rising.

Update: they are now seating alternates as the players bust out fast and furious. Ray is telling me that we're right around 600 players at this point.

There are 4 different big satellites going on today for the $10k Main Event buyin. They'll be going on all day so it's never too late to get down here.

Evy, friend of all bloggers and 5th place finisher in Event #1, won her way into the Act 2 $2000 buyin satellite last evening.

Blogger NewinNov is also down here and will be playing in the Act2.

The $5,000 buyin Event 12 played down from 228 players to the final 36. Only the top 27 will make the money. They pick there action up at 2pm. The players and chip counts.

They've added an extra event to the Borgata Poker Open. It's a $300+40 tournament with a $100k guarantee prize pool. It's starts at 11am tomorrow so it's time to get yourself in gear.
